The Lincs Offshore wind farm is a joint venture between Centrica Energy, DONG Energy, and Siemens Project Ventures and has an installed capacity of 270 MW, sufficient to power 200,000 homes.
“There is now real momentum with offshore wind. Recently, we opened the London Array, the largest operating wind farm in the world and I have just given planning permission to build an even bigger offshore wind farm, Triton Knoll, off the Lincolnshire and Norfolk coast,” said Secretary of State for Energy Edward Davey.
In the last two weeks two onshore wind farms in Scotland, the 32MW Calliachar 18MW Kildrummy, and 25 out of the 27 turbines at the 57MW Teesside Offshore Wind Farm, have come on-line.
